Economics
The model in plain words. A bid costs nothing. A negotiation costs nothing. When a contract is signed the desk's fee is a named percentage of the gross, and the rest is retained by the parties.
The fee
The desk fee is 1% of the gross under a signed contract. 1% on merch, 1% on contracts bought/sold/traded/pawned/marketplaced, 0% on contracts formed and negotiated
Worked examples
| Template | Gross | Desk fee | Retained | Primary split |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Live Performance Agreement | $6,000.00 | $60.00 | $5,940.00 | 85% |
| Civic Cultural Grant | $5,000.00 | $50.00 | $4,950.00 | 95% |
| Master Services Agreement | $150,000.00 | $1,500.00 | $148,500.00 | 65% |
Who pays whom, and when
- A bid is free and sealed. Nothing is charged to place one.
- A negotiation is free. A seal is both parties accepting the same terms — not a signature.
- A contract is filled from the template list and read by both sides as the same bytes.
- The parties pay each other under that contract, away from this site.
The ten spots and the claim path
Each room page carries ten bid spots. A spot is presence on that page. A room is managed only by whoever verified the claim on the room's own domain.
